Gold Coast Creative Industry Fact Sheet

The Gold Coast is one of Australia's largest cities, a leading tourist hot spot and an internationally reputed innovative business destination.

By implementing initiatives in film, fashion and music, Business Gold Coast’s creative program provides support to a vital sector of the economy that’s estimated at more than $190 million annually in revenue.

The industry also supports almost 3,000 full time equivalent employees with 6.7% of businesses exporting to countries including North America, Europe, South America, New Zealand and Japan.

Creative industries are part of the 'new economy' and include businesses whose products rely on creativity, skill and talent, which generates sustained wealth and create jobs by promoting intellectual property.

The Gold Coast is a lure to creative industries, events and film production and boasts Australia's third largest production centre. Many creative businesses including music, games and fashion design have chosen our city as their home base.
