Gold Coast City is home to a diverse range of food producers and manufacturers and a dynamic dining sector offering culinary experiences to suit every taste.
Producers have taken advantage of this increased interest by developing quality export ready goods for national and international consumption. Gold Coast restaurants are also using these local foods, blending and creating distinctive new flavours and experiences.
As Gold Coast City grows, the food industry is positioning itself to manage the impact of future demand, particularly in the realm of production, workforce, education and training.
The City of Gold Coast supports the food industry with access to industry associations, specialist business development experts, suppliers of food and drink core ingredients, preparation and packaging materials.
Gold Coast's food and beverage producers offer excellent quality value-add products for domestic and international markets. We specialise in functional foods for sports, health and wellness, including organic products, as well as speciality products for health and gourmets retailers and the food service industry.
Business Gold Coast - growing your food enterprise
The City of Gold Coast provides contacts, including individuals and industry organisations. Local, State and Federal Government provide support for export and national and regional initiatives.
It works with key players to encourage growth in the food and wine industry, including the Food and Beverage Industry (previously GC GAP), and Dept of Primary Industries. Export development is facilitated by our own Austrade officer. Council actively promotes and assists attendance at Gulfood, an international food focused trade fair held annually in Dubai.
At home on the Gold Coast annual events such as A la Carte in the Park and the Food and Wine Expo are city-wide attractions, celebrating the food and wine industries in the Gold Coast and its Hinterland.
