 NEW LOOK FOOD ASSOCIATION

A new name, a new logo and a revamped website (coming soon) are just a few of the great changes the former Food Forum/GC GAP is undergoing to enhance the services to its members. The FBI has a great new committee dedicated to moving the Gold Coast food industry forward.

FBI promotes the growth and interests of businesses and individuals in the Gold Coast region that provide retail, wholesale, and manufacturing of food products and services. Some of the aims of FBI have been to work with governments, industry and key stakeholders in:

• Identifying investment, export, promotion, funding and other market opportunities for members
• Promoting awareness and recognition of the capabilities and diversity of the Gold Coast food industry in providing high quality solutions in improving commercial opportunities
• Participating in key industry conferences, trade shows and outgoing & visiting delegations
• Developing synergies with complementary industry groups
• Hosting education and seminar forums and
• Providing networking opportunities among industry participants.

 Australian Food & Grocery Council

The Australian Food and Grocery Council (AFGC) is the national body representing the nation’s food and grocery products manufacturers.  The role of the Council is to help shape a business environment that encourages the food and grocery products industry to grow and remain profitable.

 

Food Standards Australia New Zealand 

FSANZ develops food standards, and joint codes of practice with industry, covering the content and labelling of food sold in Australia and New Zealand.  FSANZ develops Australia-only food standards that address  food safety issues – including requirements for primary production - and maximum residue limits for agricultural and veterinary drug residues.

 

Australian Culinary Federation

The Australian Culinary Federation is the national organization representing professional Chefs, Cooks and Apprentices. We seek to participate and advise in the establishment, maintenance and improvement of national and international culinary standards.

 

 

 

Federation of Wine & Food Societies 

The Federation of Wine & Food Societies of Australia was formed to promote an appreciation of wine, food and culinary art and to develop the pleasure of drinking and eating in good company as an essential part of a healthy, cultivated and enjoyable way of life.

 

 

Wine Industry Development
Creation of the Wine Industry Development Division followed the February 2004 State Election, as part of the ministerial portfolio of Tourism and Fair Trading Minister, Margaret Keech, is believed to be an Australian-first.

Grape & Wine Research & Development Corporation  
The mission of the GWRDC is to enable a sustainable, innovative and profitable future for the Australian Wine Industry through strategic investment in research and developments.

Gold Coast Hinterland Wine Country  
The Gold Coast Hinterland Wine Country aims to demystify wine - taking a relaxed, informative and "at home" approach to their wine tastings. Many of the wineries offer superb restaurants, cheese tastings, gourmet picnics, as well as winery and vineyard tours. Educational wine and food tastings are also available.
